Find A Lawyer Mapping Launched in the UK
By Legal Utopia
Legal Utopia has launched phase 1 of its ‘Find-A-Lawyer’ service within its new mobile app, comprising 10,400+ SRA-regulated firms with more than 30,000+ offices mapped for the first time across the world.
Find-A-Lawyer was created to establish one of the first geographical searchable maps for UK regulated lawyers based on data provided by UK regulators, the Ministry of Justice and Google LLC.
Legal Utopia has found users and the wider small business and consumer community require greater accessibility to information on legal services providers with increasingly less time to find said information.
As part of Legal Utopia’s £100k investment, supported by InnovateUK, the Find-A-Lawyer service provides users across IOS and Android devices in the UK to see, search, and select regulated providers of legal services with direct access to information such as their SRA authorisation date, business structure, identification number, as well as the practising areas of the service provider and their contact details.
Find-A-Lawyer users benefit from the ability to search by name, postcode, and region of all SRA regulated legal services providers, as well as to filter searches by practice area and sub-area to quickly identify where relevant service providers are that can help them.
The service utilises the SRA API to access the register data from the Solicitor Regulation Authority to enable daily information updates for when service provider details change.
In addition to SRA-regulated firms, Legal Utopia will be expanding the providers to include public access barristers and MOJ-contracted legal aid providers later this summer.
Find-A-Lawyer will continue to evolve its interactive service allowing small businesses and consumers to access even greater, maintained information on legal service providers to help provide a greater picture beyond internet surfing and websites.
